About College

The College of Biotechnology at Misr University for Science and Technology was established in 2006 under the leadership of Mr. Khalid Altoukhy, Chancellor and President of the Board of Trustees by Presidential Decree Number 283.

The College was awarded a bachelor’s degree in biotechnology (B.Sc. in Biotechnology) according to Minister decree No. 129 on 12/8/2009 and a master’s degree in biotechnology (M.Sc. in Biotechnology) according to Minister decree No. 776 on 16/3/2015 in two programs: Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology – Environmental and Agricultural Biotechnology.

The College is accredited by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation and publishes international scientific research published in journals with a high impact factor.

The College of Biotechnology is committed to graduating Biotechnology specialists according to the academic reference standards to meet the needs of the local and regional labor market in the medical, pharmaceutical, agricultural, and environmental sectors.   1. memorandum of understanding between the College of Biotechnology, Misr University for Science and Technology and the University of Kuopio in Finland.

This memorandum aims for international cooperation and academic and student exchange between the two sides.

2. A memorandum of understanding between the College of Biotechnology, Misr University for Science and Technology, and the School of Biology, Newcastle University, England.

The objective is to foster international collaboration and facilitate the exchange of academics and students between the two parties.

3. A letter of international cooperation structure between the College of Biotechnology, Misr University for Science and Technology, and Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland.

This letter aims to seek to achieve a joint scientific cooperation agreement between the two sides.

4. A memorandum of understanding between the College of Biotechnology, Misr University of Science and Technology, and the Faculty of Science, University of Hong Kong, China.

This memorandum aims to agree to provide education and training in scientific research for graduates.

5. A letter of international cooperation structure between the College of Biotechnology, Misr University of Science and Technology, and the Indian Center for Regenerative Medicine and Engineering, Faculty of Medicine, University of India.

This letter aims to seek to achieve a joint scientific and research cooperation agreement between the two sides.

Program of Study

The student is required to complete  successfully a minimum of 144 Credit Hours, according to bylaw 2018, for graduation distributed as follows:  

  • University requirement: 15 Credit Hours
  • College requirements: 129 Credit Hours (105 Compulsory & 24 Elective)

Post Graduate programs

  • Masters in Environmental and Agricultural Biotechnology
